Stop adding up hours by hand.

Clock in on the job from your phone, send the week in for approval, and put the hours on the invoice with one click.

An example time clock for a carpenter: a timer running on today's job, the hours tracked this week, and the entries so far, with a note that last week's time was approved.

Clock in on the job.

One tap on the job or the time clock, and the timer follows you around the desk. Forgot? Type it in later as a duration or a start and end.

An example of logging time by hand: the job, a duration typed as one and a half hours, a note, and the entry marked billable.

The week, sent in once.

Your crew sends in their week, and you approve it by the entry, by the person or all at once, or send it back with a reason.

An example of the approvals page: two people's weeks waiting, with a button to approve each person's entries, one to send time back, and one to approve everything.

Hours onto the invoice.

With Invoicing on, approved hours for that customer drop onto the invoice in one click, as a labor line for each job at its rate.

An example invoice pulling in approved hours: a button adds the unbilled time, and it arrives as one labor line for the job at the crew's rate.

Know what a job really cost.

Every job shows its hours against the budget, who put them in, and what that time is worth and cost you.

An example of a job's labor: the hours logged against its budget, the hours by person, and what that time is worth and cost.

What Time Tracking does

The small rules that keep the hours honest.

  • A rate for each personWhat you bill and what it costs you, copied onto each entry so a new rate never rewrites old time.
  • Rounding you chooseRound to 5, 6, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, with the real time kept beside it.
  • Breaks taken offAn unpaid break comes off a long day on its own.
  • No timer left runningA timer somebody forgot stops itself after the hours you set.
  • A nudge to log itDesk open for an hour with nothing logged today? The time clock offers to log it.
  • Out as a spreadsheetFilter by person, job or dates and download it as a CSV file.

Before you start

Does the crew need to download an app?

No. The time clock works in the browser on any phone, and they can add it to their home screen.

Who sees whose time?

Your crew sees their own time. The people who look after the money see everyone's, approve it and set the rates.

Can I bill the hours?

Yes, with Invoicing and Jobs. Approved, billable hours on a job go onto that customer's invoice at the rate on each entry.

Can I get the hours out for payroll?

Download them as a CSV file with each person's hours, rate and cost, filtered to the dates you pay for.

Do I pay for each person on my team?

No. There is no charge per team member, so the whole crew can clock in.
