Move one thing at a time. Nothing here asks you to switch the whole business in a day.

Your contacts

Squarespace exports contacts as a spreadsheet, without their notes or saved addresses. Import it into Contacts and match its columns to profile fields. You can undo an import for 7 days if something looks wrong.

Your mailing lists

Each list exports as three spreadsheets: subscribed, unsubscribed and cleaned. Import the subscribed one with consent ticked, and leave the other two out or import them without it, since campaigns only reach people with consent.

Your website

Squarespace exports a WordPress file with pages, one blog, text and images; store pages, styles and custom CSS stay behind. Tell us where the site is and we rebuild it on a CustoDesk theme, with your words and photos, on your own domain.

Your reviews

Squarespace's product reviews cannot be exported, so they stay there. New ones collect in the Reviews app from the day you switch it on.

When Squarespace is the better fit

A move only makes sense if CustoDesk does the part you rely on most. These are the cases where it may not.

  • You sell in person with Squarespace's point of sale, or sell print-on-demand merchandise. CustoDesk has neither.
  • You need HIPAA-covered booking. Acuity's top plan signs a HIPAA agreement; CustoDesk does not offer one.
  • Your site is most of what you need, and Squarespace's drag-and-drop layouts are the part you love.

Moving from Squarespace

Can I bring my contacts from Squarespace?

Yes. Squarespace exports contacts as a spreadsheet, and CustoDesk's contact import matches its columns to profile fields. You can undo an import for 7 days if something looks wrong.

Do I have to move everything at once?

No. Turn on one app and keep the rest where it is until you are ready. Apps switch on and off one at a time, so there is no big day.

What about my email subscribers?

Import each list's subscribed file with consent ticked. Campaigns only ever reach people who have consent and have not unsubscribed.

Do I pay for each person on my team?

No. There is no charge per person on any app. Everyone on your team is included.

Can I take my site with me later?

Yes. Download it whenever you like, as files that run on any host or as a Shopify theme.
