The yes, in writing.

A quote your customer opens on their phone, approves by typing their name and pays the deposit on, before the work is booked.

An example quote for a kitchen installation, approved by the customer, with the deposit paid.

Nobody left hanging.

You see who opened it and who went quiet, and a quote with no reply after a week comes up on Home while it can still be won.

An example list of quotes out with customers: one accepted with its deposit paid, one opened without an answer, one with no reply in eight days that Home brings up, and one sent this morning.

In the words of your trade.

Quote, estimate, proposal or bid: pick the word, and your customers read it on the page, the PDF and the email.

The four words a business can choose for what its customers see, quote, estimate, proposal or bid, with estimate picked, and the top of the document its customer opens reading Estimate EST-312.

The yes becomes the work.

An accepted quote starts the job on your schedule, or becomes an invoice with every line already on it.

An example of one job becoming one invoice: the approved quote, the finished job and the billable hours build the invoice, and its payment is recorded in the books.

What Quotes does

The small things that decide whether a quote gets a yes.

  • A deposit up frontA percentage or a set amount, paid by card on the page they approve on, into your own Stripe.
  • An expiry dateSet when it lapses: once that day has passed it is marked expired and can no longer be approved.
  • A no, with a reasonA customer can decline and say why, so you know what to change next time.
  • Items from your catalogWith Catalog, pick a part or a service and its price and description come with it.
  • A PDF and your wordingEvery quote has a PDF with your logo, and you can rewrite the email it goes out with.
  • Your numberingNumber quotes with your own prefix, carried on from the ones you sent before.

Before you start

Does my customer need an account to approve?

No. They open the link, type their name to approve or give a reason to decline, and you see the answer straight away.

Can I ask for a deposit?

Yes, as a percentage or a set amount. Connect your Stripe account once, and they pay it by card when they approve.

Can my customers see it called an estimate?

Yes. Pick quote, estimate, proposal or bid in your settings, and the page, the PDF and the email all say it.

Do I need Invoices too?

No, Quotes works on its own. With Invoices, an accepted quote becomes an invoice in one click, and the deposit counts toward it.

What happens when a quote lapses?

Once its expiry date has passed it is marked expired and can no longer be approved. Copy it into a new draft to send it again.
